About The Position

In this role, you will partner in the execution of business plans for manufacturing operations and will be responsible in providing support to help those operations achieve BPD plans and important metric objectives. Work is of a high-level, technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS and standardized launch processes - focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). You will need to possess the ability to deal with complex problems. You may also mentor less experienced team members. Expertise: Recognized pre-eminent technical expert. Has extensive theoretical and practical knowledge on leading-edge or complex technologies, disciplines, theories, techniques and /or concepts. Responsible for end-to-end process. Applies wealth of professional knowledge to generate and implement new ideas, concepts and practices and provides resolution to critical issues. Steers a course of action for their area of responsibility, often across multiple countries and regions. Has broad latitude in decisions and actions in a complex environment, and their recommendations are expected and strongly considered by senior leadership. Is fully accountable for delivery of complete operational plans and their effectiveness. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent operations experience
  • 10+ Years of experience in automotive manufacturing industry
  • 5+ years of experience of Global Propulsion Systems (GPS) processes in the automotive manufacturing industry (Castings, Engines, Transmissions, Batteries and Drive Units)
  • Experience in GPS Manufacturing operations and/or GPS Manufacturing Engineering/Maintenance
  • Demonstrated track record of measurable results
  • Demonstrated problem solving and communications capability
  • Solid organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Highly proficient in using MS Office suite of tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project) to produce professional written communication, such as reports, presentations, and correspondence
  • Ability to travel 40% of the time or higher based on business needs domestically and/or internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with GPS leadership to drive improvement in business performance metrics including Safety, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environmental Metrics.
  • Achieve budget goals
  • Lead through guiding GMS operating requirements
  • Function as a GMS calibrator and support GMS calibrations across GMNA
  • Collaborate closely with other departments within and outside of the manufacturing team
  • Maintains corporate and unit management control systems, budget and other information necessary to monitor performance
  • Assist in the forecasting of areas of responsibilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to company policies and procedures and upholds GM's vision, values, and cultural behaviors.
