About The Position

VP Racing in Huntingdon, TN actively seeks to fill the role of Shipping and Receiving Warehouse Worker. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in shipping & receiving in an industrial/warehouse environment, familiarity with standard forklift operations and digital inventory tracking systems and possess strong attention to detail skills and the ability to maintain good attendance. See description below for further details: POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Receive incoming shipments and compare items to Work Orders provided by supervisor. Count items to ensure that the correct number have been received. Determine storage areas for incoming shipments and allocate appropriate space within the warehouse. Assist in physically moving incoming items to designed storage areas and supervise storage activities. Look through Work Orders to determine order picking activities and pick orders according to the specific instructions provided. Operate forklifts to pick pallets and transport them to checking areas. Ascertain the quality and quantity of picked items and ensure that they are safely delivered to the delivery pallet. Assist in the loading of trucks (LTL) and determine safe ways to stack items on the truck. Assist in the unloading of trucks (LTL) and determine ways to retrieve items in a safe manner. Record damaged or defective items and replace them according the company policies. Handle returns and exchanges by ensuring that reverse distribution processes are followed properly. Ascertain that all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly labeled and that correlating documents are available with each shipment. Compare the amount and identification numbers of goods against orders. Assemble wood and cardboard containers or pick pre-assembled containers. Route products to departments. Attach identifying information and delivery instructions on containers. Organized records of goods shipped. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned. Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals and procedure manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate orally or in writing with coworkers, departments, customers and vendors.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute using rate, ratio and percentages.
  • With minimal supervision, demonstrate the ability to solve practical problems, interpret and resolve problems and issues using a variety of instructions or guides furnished in written, diagram, schedule or oral formats.
  • High School Diploma or GED; or one to three month’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in bartender software, a plus.
