Interface and communicate with carriers, drivers, and other departments regarding material flow. Operate computerized stock storage system or SAP system for various shipping operations. Operate and read hand-held RF units to find, move and allocate material Read shipping and order papers and cross check shipments accordingly with orders. Locate, expedite, prep, and move material for shipment as needed. Learn and understand how to safely load material onto varying types of trailers per DOT height and weight restrictions. (Primarily dry van and flatbeds). Learn and understand proper securement of product on trailers. Operate various sized forklifts (up to 30,000lbs. capacity), dock plates, and other equipment in shipping to sustain flow of materials for the department. Assist receiving dock and production material handling as needed. Process the flow of materials through the stock system or shipping area. Process and account for all transfer paperwork of stock in plant or shipments out of plant. Initiate contact with marketing regarding discrepancies between sales orders and sales schedules. Pack, store, crate, locate, expedite, load, and move material for shipment. Meet or exceed quality and quantity standards. Keep work area clean and orderly. Contribute suggestions for methods or product improvement. Drive and maintain forklifts through daily inspection checklists and perform 5S+ housekeeping duties as necessary. Adhere to all environmental, health, safety rules and regulations, and work instructions. Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered.
