About The Position

Our customer is a manufacturer of wear machined components for the earthmoving, mining, and construction industries. We are recruiting for a hands-on working Finishing & Shipping Supervisor on day shift. Responsibilities: Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures. Embraces an accident/incident-free work environment. Promotes a positive work environment and leads by example in all aspects of job performance. Lead, supervise, plan, coach, and train finishing technicians to finish and pack parts to customer specifications, defect-free, on-time to shipment due date, and cost effectively. Prepares machined products for customers through deburring, grinding, shot-peening, gaging/cleaning threads, and etching/labeling parts. Conduct final part inspection prior to customer shipment. Prepares shipments by assembling, packing, protecting parts, and labeling containers. Generates purchase orders for external processes based upon shop router. Receives items by unloading vehicles with a lift truck; accepting deliveries; and unpacking containers. Verifies items received by inspecting condition of items; comparing count/measure of items to purchase order and packing list; identifies discrepancies; and closes purchase order in ERP system. Conducts physical inventory counts of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods. Completes material adjustments in ERP system. Accurately and timely completes required internal and external shipping procedures (packlist, bill-of-lading, truck load sheet, advance shipment notice, etc.), ERP system processes, and online 3 rd party software systems to effectively transport goods. Operates and maintains all equipment (etcher, shot peener, lift truck, pneumatic hand grinder, pneumatic nail gun, banding tools, etc.) to allow maximum production uptime with planned maintenance schedules. Embraces the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and adheres to its processes, procedures, and work instructions. Observes, recommends, and implements improvements. Embraces and strives for continuous improvement. Maintain a professional relationship and effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, employees, and all stakeholders. Willingly move to initiatives, priorities, and tasks as warranted by the business and as assigned. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ideal candidate will previous hands on experience directing a team.
  • Minimum Associates Degree or equivalent work experience.
