Position Summary: The Shipping Supervisor manages and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; with the ability to effectively communicate complex commercial or technical information.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with G-Suite, MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong computer data entry skills.
  • Solid problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to ensure first quality of work.
  • Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work.
  • Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).

Nice To Haves

  • AA Degree or equivalent years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and manages bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
  • Oversees outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments in accordance with MOP’s.
  • Determines space requirements and position of shipment in containers and trucks and lays out position of shipment.
  • Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limit of states.
  • Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications. Applies security seals and inspects loaded containers.
  • Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.
  • Supervises Inventory control in Warehouse for accuracy of inventory and fulfilling orders.
  • Maintains vehicle maintenance report.
  • Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
  • Compiles records of unfilled orders (backorders) in compliance to MOP’s.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Conforms to EPICOR processes and procedures (Pick, Pack & Ship).
  • Staff and supervise shipping and receiving employees.
  • Completes performance evaluations on employees.
  • Manages shipping documents required for domestic and international shipments.
  • Coordinates Quality Control procedures with Quality Control Department.
  • Provides Safe work areas and work practices for his employees.
  • Works to continuously improve the Department.
  • Maintains Hazardous Materials records.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
