The Shipping Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the warehouse area. This role ensures shipping targets and deadlines are met safely while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. The Shipping Supervisor provides leadership, coaching, and support to the team and drives continuous improvement across shipping processes. Requirements

  • 5 – 8 years Shipping supervisory or relevant experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Proficient in the use of computers
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, supervisors, and managers using both verbal and written communication
  • Must be in good standing (i.e., no performance or attendance issues)
  • Must be able to see and hear
  • Must be able to speak, write and comprehend English

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensures appropriate initial and ongoing training of employees in safety, forklifts and operational objectives
  • Supervises employees in the shipping department
  • Utilizes planning and organizational skills in coordination of the shipping team to effectively maximize their time as it applies to shipping and staging of all outbound shipments
  • Oversees the daily activities of the warehouse area of responsibility, including labor scheduling, supervision and proper utilization of space and equipment and organized, clean building appearance.
  • Plans distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling, maintenance and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Interacts with administrative and management staff to facilitate inventory control, shipping and receiving process changes and improvements
  • Ensures documentation for all shipments is completed accurately and timely according to respective government regulations, company policy, and customer specifications
  • Leads and participates in Quarterly inventory process
  • Responsible for ordering granules, wrappers and fiberglass in support of Production
