About The Position
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Shipping Supervisor to lead our packaging, shipping, and material handling operations. This role combines hands-on warehouse work with documentation accuracy, container fabrication oversight, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will ensure goods are shipped safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- 3–5 years in logistics/shipping
- CDL (Class A preferred); must obtain Class B within 6 months
- ERP systems
- Microsoft Office
- ability to read technical drawings
- High school diploma required
- Forklift certification required
Nice To Haves
- degree in Logistics/Supply Chain
- OSHA/DOT training
Responsibilities
- Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation vendors
- Monitor shipment schedules and resolve delays
- Supervise loading/unloading and ensure proper packaging and documentation
- Drive company vehicles for pickups and deliveries (CDL preferred)
- Maintain delivery vehicle condition and compliance
- Prepare and approve shipping documents (BOLs, packing slips, labels)
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers and vendors
- Maintain accurate digital records of shipments and inventory
- Supervise or assist in building and repairing shipping crates/containers
- Ensure compliance with safety and structural standards
- Manage inventory levels to support shipping operations
