About The Position

As a Shipping Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing customer orders and shipping schedule to ensure availability of units for timely delivery. Perform varied administrative duties with a height of awareness and sensitivity while serving the customer. The position requires wide degree of latitude in planning and demonstration of assignments following policy or practice. Reporting directly to the Shipping Supervisor, this position is based in Parsons, Tennessee.

Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum 3 years of experience in shipping and/or logistics; in lieu of diploma, 4 years of experience will suffice.
Intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook required
Must be detail oriented, exercising judgment and serving customers timely.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with an ERP and strong logistics background including familiarity in working with LTL and Full Truck carriers; preferred
Certified Hazmat shipper

Responsibilities

Review customer orders and shipping schedule to ensure availability of units for timely delivery.
Arrange for outbound transportation on both domestic and international orders.
Track orders as needed.
Complete all documentation for shipment of goods including bills of lading, commercial invoices, export document, truck manifests.
Compliance with the documented Corporate routing guidelines
Responsible for execution and communication of shipping change orders/updates
Prioritize shipments considering customer status, unit availability, promised ship date and customer requests.
Maintain shipment and transaction data in the database.
Work with LTL, full truck load, air and vessel carriers and schedule
Respond to freight billing inquiries.
Track and ensure freight is delivered to destination.
Respond to numerous freight inquiries.
