About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the accurate, efficient, and timely movement of merchandise into and out of the store. This role is essential to maintaining inventory integrity, operational efficiency, and a safe, well-organized work environment. This position requires a dependable, detail-oriented leader with proven experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations. The supervisor is hands-on and accountable for daily execution, quality control, and team performance. By leading with professionalism, consistency, and sound judgment, the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor directly supports store operations, inventory accuracy, and overall business success.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or inventory operations required.
  • Demonstrated history of reliability, strong attendance, and professional conduct.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold team members accountable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Basic math skills and working knowledge of inventory systems and computer applications.
  • Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks; forklift experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to assess performance, provide constructive feedback, and drive improvement.
  • Successful completion of background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the shipping and receiving team, ensuring performance expectations are clearly communicated and consistently met.
  • Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure merchandise is handled accurately, securely, and on schedule.
  • Maintain precise inventory records and tracking systems; investigate and resolve discrepancies, shortages, and overages promptly.
  • Ensure all required documentation, labeling, and recordkeeping are completed accurately and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Enforce safety procedures and proper use of material-handling equipment, modeling safe and professional behavior at all times.
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and quality checks to support accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training team members, emphasizing accountability, teamwork, and respect.
  • Create and maintain work schedules aligned with operational demands and staffing needs.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and corrective guidance to support team development and improvement.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure receiving, storage, and staging area.
  • Support loss prevention initiatives by adhering to and enforcing security procedures.
  • Coordinate professionally with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to improve workflow and efficiency.
  • Assist donors in accordance with company standards, providing courteous and professional service.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, safety guidelines, and company policies.
  • Support store leadership with sales, promotions, and marketing initiatives as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Store Manager or General Manager.
