About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth, accurate, and timely flow of goods in and out of the store. This position requires a highly reliable and organized leader who can be trusted to manage inventory, oversee deliveries, and uphold company standards with consistency and integrity. This role is hands-on and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on accountability, quality control, and team development. The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is expected to lead by example—demonstrating professionalism, respect, and safety at all times—while fostering a positive, productive work environment. Dependability and sound judgment are essential, as this position directly impacts store operations, inventory accuracy, and overall efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a supervisor, team lead, or key holder in shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and respect in leadership and attendance.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic math and computer proficiency.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts preferred).
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to assess performance, provide constructive feedback, and coach team members effectively.
  • Successful completion of background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise and support the shipping and receiving team, ensuring expectations are clear and consistently met.
  • Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accurate, timely, and secure handling of merchandise.
  • Maintain accurate inventory tracking systems, promptly addressing discrepancies, shortages, or overages.
  • Ensure proper documentation, labeling, and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Enforce safety standards and safe use of material handling equipment, setting a strong example for the team.
  • Conduct audits and quality checks to maintain operational accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training team members, emphasizing reliability, teamwork, and respect.
  • Develop and maintain work schedules based on operational needs and staffing levels.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and corrective guidance to support performance improvement.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure receiving and storage area.
  • Support loss prevention efforts by following and enforcing security protocols.
  • Coordinate professionally with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to streamline processes.
  • Assist donors according to company standards with courtesy and professionalism.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Support store leadership with sales and marketing initiatives when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Store Manager or General Manager.
