About The Position

A SHIPPING/RECEIVING CLERK IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PREPARING OUTGOING SHIPMENTS AND RECEIVING INCOMING SHIPMENTS. THEIR DUTIES INCLUDE ORGANIZING INVENTORY FOR EASY RETRIEVAL AS NEW ORDERS COME IN, REVIEWING INCOMING AND OUTGOING SHIPMENT SCHEDULES TO MAINTAIN PRODUCTIVE OPERATIONS.

Requirements

  • Be knowledgeable with all Marshall procedures and work instructions pertaining to any personal job responsibilities to achieve and maintain maximum quality performance.
  • Be able to operate all aspects of the shipping computer programs, including Bar Code shipping labels, certification of compliance, needs and availability, shipping tickets.
  • Be able to use the computer database to investigate order status.
  • Become knowledgeable of freight tariffs, duties for international shipping.
  • Know documentation requirements for both domestic and international shipment, such as: Air bills, Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, COD shipments, Shippers Export Declaration.
  • Keep records of and be able to package goods for particular customer requirements.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Enters finished good quantities into the information system.
  • Moves finished goods to the vault from scaling and places on the shelf originated by M2M ERP system.
  • Run a Needs and Availability report daily / record daily shipment requirements and determine what needs to be shipped from the needs and availability. Parts are then retrieved from designated inventory locations.
  • Print packing slips with certification included, using the order information obtained from the M2M ERP information system.
  • Print BAR-CODE shipping labels.
  • Package components to customer order requirements, including appropriate paperwork and any other requirements as specified.
  • Weigh packages and use the designated system method (UPS, FEDEX, DHL, etc.) for determining and recording shipping information (address, costs, tracking #’s, etc.).
  • Contact appropriate transportation service as necessary and place packaged goods on cart or skid for transport pickup.
  • Enters shipment weights and tracking numbers into information system.
