Shipping & Receiving Manager
About The Position
The Shipping and Receiving Manager oversees all aspects of inbound, outbound, and cross dock logistics, ensuring the accurate and efficient movement of products and materials through the facility. This role is responsible for leading a team of shipping and receiving team members, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. This Shipping and Receiving Manager should be highly collaborative and will facilitate strong partnerships with Plant Operations, Transportation, Inventory, Quality, and Supply Chain. The Shipping and Receiving Manager should be highly analytical, well-organized, comfortable with technology, and have a strong understanding of shipping and receiving procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or related field or relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience in shipping and receiving
- 3+ years of experience in management and leadership
- Strong understanding of shipping and receiving procedures
- Strong technical abilities with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems
- Strong understanding of budgeting, analytics, and reporting
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams through training, coaching, and performance management
- Strong attention to detail with advanced organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
- Direct daily operations of shipping and receiving across the organization, including scheduling, staffing, inventory control, documentation, and reporting
- Collaborate with transportation, plant operations, quality, inventory, supply chain, and other internal customers to ensure accurate and timely movements and troubleshoot any issues
- Lead, train, and mentor team members to ensure high performance, efficiency, teamwork, skills development, cross-training, safety, and compliance with company standards
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates
- Maintain warehouse to ensure organized storage, maximum capacity, security, cleanliness, and safety in accordance with OSHA regulations
- Ensure machinery and equipment is properly maintained and operated correctly, including managing forklift testing and certification
- Monitor and optimize workflow to meet shipping deadlines, material needs, and customer delivery requirements
- Analyze, optimize, and report on key performance indicators such as order accuracy, meeting deadlines, and freight costs
- Investigate and resolve shipping and receiving quality issues, damages, or lost freight claims
- Adapt quickly to changing order requirements and communicate changes clearly to all stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations and company policies
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in logistics and warehouse management
- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and vendors
- All other duties as assigned
