Shipping & Receiving Lead
About The Position
Mural Industrial is hiring a Shipping & Receiving Lead on behalf of a growing precision manufacturing shop with a tight-knit team and strong production demand. This is a hands-on lead role designed for someone who enjoys working directly with high-value finished parts while helping set the foundation for future team growth. This position is not a desk-only logistics role. During the first 3–6 months, the majority of the work will be spent on finishing, inspection, packaging, and material movement, with shipping and receiving responsibilities making up a smaller portion of the day. As the business continues to grow and production targets are met, this role will evolve into a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor, including hiring and leading an additional team member. This is an ideal opportunity for a lead or supervisor-level candidate who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and growing into a leadership role.
Requirements
- Experience in a manufacturing, machining, or industrial environment
- Hands-on experience with finishing, inspection, packaging, or material handling
- Strong attention to detail and respect for handling high-value finished products
- Willingness to be on the floor daily and lead by example
- Comfortable working overtime when available (average ~10 hours/week, not mandatory)
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience as a lead, senior operator, or supervisor (formal supervisory experience not required)
- Background in metal finishing, machining, or precision manufacturing
- Experience supporting shipping and receiving operations in a production setting
Responsibilities
- Perform final finishing on precision metal parts, including deburring, polishing, and visual inspection
- Conduct final clean-up and quality checks on high-value finished products before shipment
- Assist with packaging and preparation of finished goods for outbound shipments
- Pick, move, and stage parts through the final phase of production
- Handle parts carefully to protect quality, finish, and customer requirements
- Receive incoming materials and verify accuracy against documentation
- Prepare outbound shipments, including packaging, labeling, and staging
- Support end-of-month shipping surges to meet customer delivery deadlines
- Coordinate with operations to ensure parts are shipped accurately and on time
- Act as a go-to lead on the floor, setting the standard for quality, pace, and organization
- Learn internal processes and workflows with the expectation of increased ownership over time
- Support future hiring and onboarding once headcount is added
- Transition into a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor role as the team grows
