About The Position

As we navigate a period of expansion and strategic initiatives, we are seeking a 2nd shift shipping and receiving lead to join our team and contribute to the company's success. The Shipping and Receiving Lead is a hands-on role serving as the team lead for the warehouse staff, ensuring efficient, accurate, and timely handling of inbound and outbound shipments while maintaining food safety and inventory accuracy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or coursework in logistics or warehouse operations is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (GMPs, HACCP) and warehouse best practices.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with warehouse/inventory system, Ross preferred.
  • Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and verify the unloading of inbound deliveries and accurate receipt of goods, including food-grade ingredients and packaging.
  • Oversee outbound shipments to ensure correct picking, staging, labeling, and loading based on orders and customer requirements.
  • Conduct quality and quantity checks of shipments and document any discrepancies or damages.
  • Ensure all goods are properly labeled, documented, and stored according to food safety and company protocols.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counts, material movement tracking, and proper documentation.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Train and mentor new and existing team members on shipping/receiving procedures, safety practices, and equipment use.
  • Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with GMPs, OSHA, and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with production, purchasing, inventory, and quality departments regarding material needs and issues.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and recommend changes to improve workflow, accuracy, or safety.
