About The Position

In this hands-on role, you’ll oversee daily warehouse operations while ensuring materials and products are received, stored and shipped safely, accurately, and in full compliance with regulatory standards. Position Overview As a Shipping/Receiving Lead, you’ll report to the Distribution Manager and play a critical role in supporting production and customer fulfillment. Your primary responsibilities include receiving and inspecting incoming materials, issuing raw materials and packaging to production, preparing finished goods for shipment, and maintaining accurate inventory records. You’ll work in a cGMP-regulated environment, using warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, while ensuring compliance with FDA, DOT, and OSHA requirements. Shift Availability 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 5:00AM - 1:30PM

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or distribution environment.
  • Previous experience in a lead, coordinator, or informal leadership role.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent physical activity (walking, bending, lifting, etc.).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver up to 100 lbs.
  • Experience with QAD or other inventory control systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an FDA-regulated or cGMP-compliant environment.
  • Familiarity with DOT and hazardous material shipping requirements.
  • Hazmat endorsement and/or hazardous material shipping certification.
  • Forklift certification and experience.
  • Previous experience training or mentoring team members.
  • Experience with continuous improvement or lean methodologies.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical.
  • Experience driving a box truck.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily guidance and work direction to shipping/receiving team members.
  • Coordinate workload, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely completion of all shipping and receiving activities.
  • Train, mentor, and support new and existing employees on procedures, systems, and safety practices.
  • Serve as the point of contact for issue escalation and problem resolution on the shift.
  • Receive finished products, raw materials, and packaging components.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and specifications.
  • Inspect materials for damage, properly label them, and move them to designated storage locations based on temperature and handling requirements.
  • Perform cycle counts and inventory transactions to ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Maintain a safe, organized work environment in accordance with OSHA, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensure team adherence to all SOPs, cGMPs, FDA, and DOT regulations.
  • Perform and verify daily safety checks on warehouse equipment; address and escalate unsafe conditions.
  • Oversee receipt of finished products, raw materials, and packaging components.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and specifications.
  • Ensure proper inspection, labeling, and storage of materials based on temperature and handling requirements.
  • Monitor and support cycle counts and inventory transactions to maintain accuracy.
  • Oversee issuance of raw materials and packaging to production while maintaining accurate inventory.
  • Ensure efficient picking, packing, and distribution of internal and external orders.
  • Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies and support resolution.
  • Oversee preparation of products for shipment, ensuring correct packaging and compliance with shipping requirements.
  • Review and verify shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading.
  • Ensure proper handling of returns and completion of all associated documentation and system transactions.
  • Safely operate and ensure proper use of forklifts, motorized and manual pallet jacks, and pallet-wrapping equipment.
  • Ensure team members are properly trained and certified on required equipment.
  • Lead and support Continuous Improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve warehouse processes, reduce waste, and enhance service levels.
