Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 0-2 years of stockroom experience, including shipping & receiving
  • Must be able to lift minimum 25 pounds
  • Must be able to work overtime, as needed
  • Computer skills, data entry experience and proven working knowledge of computer usage (Word, Excel)
  • Proficient in English. Must have good English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Able to prioritize job flows, schedule and manage time efficiently
  • Strong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities required
  • Well organized and able to work independently
  • Must have current California driver’s license
  • Forklift Operator certification; or become certified within a reasonable time frame after hire

  • Technical school/Associate degree a plus

Responsibilities

  • Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment
  • Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records
  • Record receipt of incoming materials and equipment
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record and report shortages and discrepancies, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  • Route checked incoming materials, supplies or equipment to the stockroom, appropriate departments or other areas
  • Prepare products or materials for shipment
  • Assembly shipping containers and/or select pre-assembled containers, and inserts items to be shipped into containers, using spacers, fillers and protective padding
  • Close and seal packages to be shipped
  • Affix shipping label, identify information, and shipping instructions onto packed cartons or containers.
  • Post weights and shipping charges and affix postage
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  • Prepare bills of lading and maintain documentation of goods shipped
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Receive and label production material into back-stock stockroom location using internal software system
  • May be required to perform other duties
