About The Position

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk helps to maintain an efficient supply chain by preparing shipments, processing deliveries, and checking for quality and accuracy on all orders. As a strong communicator and skilled hands-on Shipping/Receiving Clerk, you will assist as necessary with packaging / un-packaging of product, material, and supplies. Perform general clean ups to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Requirements

  • Required Education: High school graduate or equivalent in work experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, organize tasks and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and Outlook), ERP experience a plus
  • Constant standing/walking/sitting for at least 8 hours.
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 lbs, minimum 35 lbs.
  • Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
  • Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less. Corrective lenses may be worn to fulfill requirements.
  • Prolonged periods of repetitive movement are required.
  • Constant holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand(s).
  • Occasional extending of arms to reach overhead, at shoulder level and below shoulder level.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Experience in office administration or supply chain position
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and Outlook), ERP experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates shipments by preparing and processing shipping requests
  • Arrange shipments with carriers, obtain required approvals, prepare and packages shipments, updates shipment status daily
  • Interacts with customers and vendors to confirm and obtain appropriate documentation and approvals
  • Build shipping custom shipping crates
  • Helps to ensure organization of shipping area and supplies
  • Receives deliveries and verifies accuracy of items on pack slip
  • Verifies that all required paperwork is included, complete and legible; works with supplier to obtain required paperwork as needed
  • Scans all paperwork, stores hard copy and electronic files
  • Labels received items
  • Delivers to recipient, Inventory or to Receiving Inspection, as applicable
  • Pick up deliveries from local suppliers as needed using personal vehicle
  • Operate forklift to load, unload and move shipping containers
