About The Position

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., makers of Yellawood brand Pressure Treated Pine, is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. This position will be responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as preparing items for shipment. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefits package.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
• Responsible for placing identifying information on the material upon arrival at the plant site.
• Routes items to inventory.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• May operate industrial lift truck or uses tractor truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments to storage or work area.
• Maintains traffic flow through the white yard and assists in staging shipments for outbound loads.
• Assists in stacking lumber or moving products by hand as needed.
