About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Associate is an essential role within the organization to assist, facilitate, and control the inbound and outbound product movement throughout the organization. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for picking, packing, and shipping of all inbound and outbound shipments along with the duties associated with shipment preparation. Will be responsible for bills of lading, coordinating associated paperwork, collecting necessary documentation, and ensuring shipments are complete and on-time. WHY GRIP-TITE MANUFACTURING CO.? Requirements

  • One year of previous experience in shipping and receiving required.
  • Must possess valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Take the initiative to keep all areas clean and safe
  • Follow applicable housekeeping and safety procedures
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds each, with assistance if needed, at heights from floor level to 4 feet high
  • Provide assistance to others in moving heavier or bulky objects
  • Must wear personal protective equipment - ear plugs, steel toe shoes and protective glasses
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in all aspects of work assignments
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • One year of forklift operation desired.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Experience loading and unloading trucks preferred.
  • Manufacturing/Industrial environment exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct proper packaging, weighing, and labeling of all customer orders.
  • Ensures orders are pulled and staged in a timely manner.
  • Maintains customer service mindset, including but not limited to, verifying that orders are correctly picked and ready to ship by the order ship date.
  • Checks with the Shipping Coordinator or other members of the Supply Chain Team with any questions regarding shipment priorities.
  • Acts as the last quality check for outbound product.
  • Checks with the Quality Technician if there are any quality concerns.
  • Receive incoming material and parts.
  • Provide the shipping coordinator with packing slips as applicable.
  • Load and unload trucks in a timely manner.
  • Work with the shipping coordinator to maintain proper inventory levels for shipping area items (hardware, cartons, etc.).
  • Assist with cycle counting.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including keeping track of outbound orders.
  • Operate forklift, material handling equipment, and tools safely.
  • Organize shipping documentation and request pick-ups.
  • Must be willing to take initiative and be accountable for shipping and receiving functions.
  • Assess workload and ask for help as needed to support timely shipment of customer orders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support and backfill for the Material Handler as required.
