About The Position

The 2nd Shift Shipping Material Handler is responsible for all aspects of shipping and receiving, including staging loads for shipment, receiving raw materials and returnable containers, and organizing finished goods. This role involves managing inventory through paperwork entry, loading trucks according to customer requirements, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The handler will also be expected to learn basic computer tasks for electronic communication with customers and assist with monthly and yearly inventory counts.

Requirements

  • Competent reading, writing, math, and problem-solving skills.
  • Forklift experience in a manufacturing environment putting safety first.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
  • Reading and writing skills are adequate for following written instructions and completing required documentation.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to lift and twist for 8-10 hour shifts.
  • Computer Literate.
  • Ability to get HILO License.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma/ GED and automotive experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for staging loads for shipment.
  • Receiving of raw material and returnable containers.
  • Organized storage of finished goods prior to shipment.
  • Entry of count point and receiving paperwork for the control of inventory and scheduling.
  • Willingness to learn basic computer basic tasks pertaining to the shipment of goods to the customer including electronic communications to customer.
  • Responsible for loading trucks to meet the customer’s requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Housekeeping/5S; ongoing safety initiatives.
  • Upholding processes and procedures as defined by supervision.
  • Organization of empty containers in storage.
  • Ability to use copier/scanner and barcode scanner.
  • Responsible to take care of components, cardboard, fiber and put in the correct location on the plant floor.
  • Help with monthly and yearly inventory.
  • Required to haul empty containers outside of the facility and keep area cleaned.
  • Ability to print BOLs and send ASNs for each customer electronically from a computer – to be done on each shift daily.
