About The Position

Eaton's GEIS division is currently seeking a Shipping Manager. We are providing relocation assistance for any applicant residing outside of a 50-mile radius of Sherman, TX! The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What you'll do: Drive Zero Incident Safety Culture Responsible for the workforce, safety, and 5S+ levels assigned to the area. Understand and optimize shipping and receiving capacities within the plant. Prepare daily shipping schedules based on available capacity and demand. Proactively determine potential risks to the shipping schedule and communicate them to the appropriate parties. Review current and past due orders for shipment availability. Update and communicate key delivery metrics. Oversee day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals. Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager to reduce operational costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvements. Ensure the proper application and interpretation of established personnel and safety policies throughout the department. Create the foundation for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standard work processes are established and followed, countermeasures are implemented, and in compliance with plant safety guidelines. Promote a team environment and develop direct reports by fostering problem-solving skill sets. Assure that appropriate equipment is provided, adequately maintained and safely operated. Responsible for managing team members, employment decisions and performance assessments for the department. Allocate the necessary resources to meet external and internal commitments while maintaining budgetary control. Lead implementation and achievement of long-term manufacturing strategies through lean manufacturing principles and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree from Accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment
  • Able and willing to work 2nd shift on an as needed/periodic basis, and flexible for rotating weekends if needed

  • Demonstrated experience supervising and/or managing people.
  • Progressive experience in manufacturing operations involving machining and mechanical assembly activities.
  • Experiential evidence of the ability to achieve positive organizational cultural change.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage cross-functional resources to support manufacturing requirements.
  • Superb problem-solving skills and the ability to teach.
  • The ability to work in teams and communication skills.
  • This ideal candidate will be detailed, analytical, and results oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, motivate, coach and train people in varying production disciplines to achieve improved overall performance.
  • Ability to stand for long period of time
  • Ability to reach, grasp, manipulate and lift up to 50 lbs alone
  • Proficiency with MS Office

  • 4 or more years experience in a supervisory or management role
  • SAP business system experience
