The Shipping Loader position involves reviewing work orders and selecting the appropriate pieces for shipment within the shipping area of a Vinyl Window manufacturing plant. This includes lifting, pushing, and pulling materials like windows, glass panes, and loaded carts, placing them on L-shaped carts, transporting them to the loading dock, ensuring all pieces are included per the work order, and then placing them into outgoing trailers, potentially including loading the trucks.

Requirements

  • Ability to measure lengths accurately to 1/32”
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
  • Ability to frequently push/pull, bend at the waist and neck, kneel/squat, reach above and below shoulders, use repetitive hand/arm movements, grasp (poser/pinch) and use foot controls to operate foot-brake on rolling carts to meet the physical demands characteristic of this job.
  • Can work well with others, 2-3 man team
  • Ability to read and interpret common statistical data, productivity reports, and written instructions
  • Capable of using computerized equipment, working with scanners
  • Will require standing, walking and working on concrete surfaces for long periods of time
  • Ability to move carts in and out of production areas
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Review work orders and “pull” or select the appropriate pieces for shipment.
  • Lift, push and pull materials (windows, glass panes and loaded carts).
  • Place pieces on an L-shaped cart and transport 15-20 feet to the loading dock.
  • Review the work order to ensure all pieces are included.
  • Place the pieces into an outgoing trailer.
  • May work on loading the trucks for shipment.
  • Manually loading windows.
