About The Position

The Shipping Coordinator I is responsible for preparing patient or customer shipments for delivery and performing some local deliveries, ensuring accurate and timely delivery. This role involves determining the most suitable delivery method considering patient care and cost, packaging medications with necessary supplies and paperwork, and preparing accurate shipping labels. The coordinator will sort packages, monitor shipments for prompt and proper delivery, and follow up with patients, customers, and shipping vendors when necessary. Additionally, the role includes coordinating and completing delivery claims, monitoring and recording refunds and reimbursements from claim submissions, and maintaining shipping records. The position also requires completing all necessary documentation for deliveries, obtaining signatures on required documents, and returning them to the pharmacy, as well as sorting and distributing incoming packages.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of shipping/receiving, ordering, packing, warehouse or logistics experience
  • Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patient or customer shipments for delivery and carry out some local deliveries ensuring accurate and timely delivery
  • Determine the best delivery method from a patient care and cost considerations
  • Package medications for shipment including medication, supplies and necessary paperwork
  • Prepare shipping labels for packages ensuring accurate and current information
  • Sort packages by delivery method and ensure appropriate storage until shipments leave facility
  • Monitor shipments to ensure prompt and proper delivery
  • Follow up with patients, customers and shipping vendors when necessary
  • Coordinate and/or complete delivery claims when necessary to delivery vendors
  • Coordinate, monitor and record refunds and reimbursements from claim submissions
  • Maintain shipping records including delivery claims, refunds, or other vendor related correspondence
  • Complete all documentation required for delivery of supplies and products
  • Obtain signature on required documentation and return them to the pharmacy
  • Sort and distribute incoming packages
