The Shipping Clerk on 2nd Shift is responsible for assisting with all inbound and outbound traffic and the required documentation associated with these processes. Our distribution center is located in Carlisle, PA.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Able to read and comprehend instructions and write correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Billing for all outbound loads at the Carlisle Distribution Center.
  • Check in trailers/drivers when they arrive and communicate with the guard service.
  • Check out trailers/drivers to include: To ship close loads, scan documents, etc.
  • Update computer system with necessary data including: OB load in WMS, trailer management, etc.
  • Assist with security, in the Welcome Center, to keep the flow of traffic moving into the facility.
  • Dispatch outbound shipments in a timely manner.
  • Assist emergency personnel with location of injured employee or hazard.
  • Train others as needed.
  • Work and communicate in a professional manner with all business associates and the ability to have drivers abide by our company policies while being respectful and assertive.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures; including, but not limited to wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain work area and set next shift up for success through organizing and communication.
  • Assist with the task desk with pack list, releasing work, etc.
  • Assist the Operations Assistants with allocating loads and/or scheduling loads in the system.
  • Other duties as assigned.
