The Shipping Clerk will prepare documentation and perform all clerical functions to meet or exceed customer delivery expectations. Some locations require this position to package and ship products in a manner that meets or exceeds customer's delivery expectations. They are also responsible for checking to ensure orders are correctly completed.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical procedures, government regulation, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to use a variety of material handling equipment.
  • Ability to understand and operate PC equipment running under Microsoft Windows Format.
  • High school diploma or GED required or 1 to 3 months of related experience/training and/or an equivalent combination of both.
  • HAZ-Mat Training.
  • Fork Lift Certification.
  • Must have PIT equipment experience.
  • MUST be willing/expected to work overtime on short notice.

  • Preferred shipping documentation prep experience
  • Truck loading knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately identify, handle and prepare production orders for shipment.
  • Understand HYDAC Quality Policy and Quality Objectives as related to this position.
  • Post goods, issues deliveries, print packing lists, create bill of ladings and other paperwork associated with shipments.
  • Assure product is packaged and labeled according to instructions/requirements.
  • Process shipments using UPS, DHL, AIT, FEDEX and LTL, Hazmat, Hot shots, Etc shipments.
  • Respond to emails in a timely manner.
  • Clear communication skills written and verbal with internal and external departments, customers, services, Etc.
  • Create and maintain (update) any new or existing work in a timely manner.
  • Observe safety rules, housekeeping requirements and other company policies and work-rules.
  • Operate mobile equipment including forklift and pallet jack.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
