Please visit our website for more detail and to meet our team. www.altekelectronics.com Position Summary of the Shipping Clerk Role at Altek Electronics: Responsible for packing and shipping of products to our Customers. The Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Shipping Clerk are described below, other duties may be assigned: Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of outgoing shipment. Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials. Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures and rates. Record shipment data for reporting, accounting, and record keeping purposes. Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials. Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications. Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock. Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, and postage meter. Actively participates in quality initiatives by participating in problem solving, process improvements and performance measurements. Responsible for understanding & following company, and or manufacturing guidelines/procedures Responsible for following established safety rules & 6S

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to read & understand assembly prints
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience in a related area
  • Work experience in the applicable area is preferred
