Harvard Bioscience is looking for a shipping clerk with experience in international shipping in our St. Paul, Minnesota office. The qualified candidate will verify and keep accurate records on outgoing international shipments. They will prepare orders for shipment by performing shipping duties that include picking, packing and processing. Must have working knowledge of international shipping including export compliance, commercial invoicing, AES/EEI filing, Fedex/UPS/ DHL international shipping processes, working with freight forwarders, harmonized codes, etc.

Requirements

  • International shipping experience is a must.
  • Detail oriented team player who can work independently or with little supervision.
  • Knowledge of Internet shipping software; Inventory software and Microsoft office suite.
  • High School Diploma or Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of international shipping including export compliance, commercial invoicing, AES/EEI filing, Fedex/UPS/ DHL international shipping processes, working with freight forwarders, harmonized codes, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with JD Edwards software a plus.
  • Dangerous goods shipping experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying orders to print and ship on a daily basis.
  • Picking, packing, and shipping orders according to customer specifications.
  • Communicate with internal customer service and other internal departments as well as freight forwarders and other external customers.
  • Final examination of outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Other duties as assigned including domestic shipping, inbound receipt of material, cycle counting.
