About The Position

As a Shipping Clerk II, you’re the final checkpoint before products reach our customers—ensuring everything is packaged, loaded, and shipped with precision. From selecting the right materials to optimizing how products are arranged for transport, you play a key role in protecting quality and maximizing efficiency. You’ll use your experience to develop and improve packaging methods, making the most of flatbed and LTL truck space while ensuring shipments are secure and compliant. Working closely with internal teams, you help coordinate shipments, solve challenges, and keep products moving out the door smoothly. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or shipping environment
  • Confidence operating cranes and mobile equipment safely and efficiently
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet quality standards and verify work using measuring tools
  • Comfort using computer systems such as IFS, SharePoint, and CrateTracker
  • A hands-on, team-oriented mindset with a focus on getting the job done right

Responsibilities

  • Keep shipments moving efficiently by accurately pulling, staging, and preparing materials, crates, and products based on load lists and system requirements.
  • Maximize every load by strategically organizing and loading flatbeds, trailers, and vans to make the best use of space while ensuring product safety.
  • Bring precision and craftsmanship to packaging by using tools such as nail guns and saws to build and secure crates that protect products in transit.
  • Safely operate equipment—including company trucks and trailers—to move products between buildings and support overall shipping flow.
  • Stay proactive by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in packaging, loading, and shipping processes.
  • Take ownership of quality by following GFS Quality Management System (QMS) standards in every aspect of your work.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to keep shipments on schedule and ensure a smooth, efficient operation.
  • Take pride in the final product—knowing your work ensures everything leaves the facility protected, organized, and ready to arrive exactly as intended.
