About The Position

The Shipping Associate is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of job packets and loading of trailers. This includes understanding the pick list, Identifying items for shipment, and labeling freight. The Shipping Associate is responsible for organizing and maintaining the shipping dock. This position requires operating a sit-down forklift.

Requirements

HS Diploma or GED
Forklift: 2 years (Required)
1-2 years of experience loading trucks and trailers
Ability to properly balance production, quality, and safety
Willingness to work as a team member and maintain a positive attitude is a must
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Capable of lifting 50lbs

Responsibilities

Pull the job packet and review the pick list and piece count for each shipment.
Accurately account for the weights and dimensions of each shipment.
Work with Logistics Office to generate paperwork and shipping labels
Ensure boxes are staples secure and tagged with Do Not Stacks signage
Package handrail pieces into appropriate corrugated tubing and bracing as required.
Review the deal number listed on labels compared to skid, handrail, etc. to ensure correct labeling of shipment.
Pull column material and cut to length per order.
Load labeled freight on carrier trailer as specified.
Shift ends when all shipping dock is clear of all pieces and trailers are fully loaded.
Maintain filing of the Bills of Landing (BOL) into the correct carrier bins.
Complete daily shipment audit log and record all materials loaded onto each trailer.
Organize Customer Pick-ups so they can be picked and pulled when the customer arrives.
Complete weekly handrail audit
Complete weekly shipping audit of skids
Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards.
Safely operate forklift and other material handling equipment.
All other duties as assigned.
