About The Position

The Shipping Associate, 1st Shift is responsible for accurately and safely receiving and storing materials, processing incoming shipments. Distributes materials, tools, equipment and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. The Shipping Associate, 1st Shift, provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers and demonstrates strict confidentiality with all team members while serving as an ambassador of our culture.

Requirements

  • Requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Requires a positive attitude and ability to function both independently and in a team setting.
  • Must possess a strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Must prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.
  • Able to communicate in English with regard to the essential functions of the position
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: One year of prior experience in a similar warehouse role preferred.

  • Certifications: Forklift preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work 1st shift hours, staying until all duties are complete.
  • Unload trucks and accurately receive merchandise, matching bills of lading to purchase orders.
  • Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipping against work orders to ascertain that quantities destination, and routing are correct.
  • Interpret customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped and maintained accurate documentation.
  • Move, sort, and identify materials and items from receiving or storage areas for shipping or to other designated areas according to predetermined sequences.
  • Traces lost shipments and/or customers claims.
  • Weigh and count items for distribution within the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Accurately picks, packs, and loads customer orders onto delivery vehicles.
  • Drives a Stake Body Truck exclusively within the facility grounds and company property.
  • Demonstrates company core values and best practices.
  • Inspect shipments for damage or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies shipping supervisor.
  • Delivers items to the loading dock and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items.
  • May operate dolly, pallet jack, crane, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink wrap machine.
  • Adhere to all company safety rules, standards, and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
