About The Position

The Warehouse Shipping Associate is responsible for preparing and processing outbound materials (outbound Gas packages and material sent for post processing), ensuring finished goods meet quality standards and maintaining accurate documentation along with warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors, and employees.
  • Adept knowledge of modes of transportation
  • Analytical - Uses intuition and experience to complement data. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Project Management software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Read computer monitor and written documentation. Require bending, standing and reaching. Sit for long periods of time. May lift and or move at least 15 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, package and stage outbound shipments, including large gas packages and materials for post processing.
  • Verify finished goods meet visual quality, labeling, and packaging requirements by quality checks along with reporting non-conformities and/or discrepancies.
  • Create and maintain itemized lists of sub-assemblies and components for outbound orders.
  • Partner with the Warehouse team to track materials requiring post processing or special handling.
  • Receives and unloads inbound shipments. Inspects shipments for damage and accuracy
  • Operates fork truck, overhead crane, powered pallet jack, manual pallet jack, dolly, etc., to move material throughout warehouse
  • Reads packing slips, checks accuracy against materials received, and enters information into the ERP system to account for receipt of materials
  • Marks materials with identifying information as needed
  • Conveys and puts away parts in the appropriate locations within the warehouse shelves, bins, racks in accordance with predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, product code, etc.
  • Uses the ERP system to determine customer material needs and releases parts to orders
  • Reads and interprets pick tickets, locates and picks parts, and distributes them within the facility or prepares them for outbound shipment as needed
  • Uses carrier websites to create shipping documents and arranges freight shipments with customers or carriers. Prepares parcel packages and LTL loads for shipment
  • Requests warehouse supplies as needed
  • Completes inventory cycle counting requirements as assigned
