About The Position

The Shipping Associate is responsible for ensuring all outbound Domestic, International, Parcel, and Freight shipments are shipped accurately according to company procedures. Accurate, timely completion of the duties of the Shipper is an essential component in ensuring that companywide goals of quality and on-time delivery are attained. The Shipping Associate is also responsible for the consolidation area of the department. The consolidation area is an area for organizing boxes of completed work onto the consolidation shelves and pulling completed orders within a date range from the consolidation shelves for the Shipping floor to prepare for delivery while using an RF device and a computer for tracking purposes. COMPENSATION: The hourly pay range reflects the actual compensation that Ahead, LLC; the employer reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of hire. The final offer will be determined by a candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. $17.00 - $20.00 per hour SCHEDULE: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday with Overtime (Saturday 7am – noon) as required SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

Requirements

  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Knowledge of UPS, FedEx, and USPS shipping requirements.
  • Knowledge of other relevant computer software and systems.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good math skills.
  • Must be able to read, understand and communicate in the English language.
  • Ability to work alone and in a team environment.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Must have own transportation.
  • Ability to use the following tools and machinery.
  • Tape gun
  • Utility knife
  • Pallet truck
  • Hand truck
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in shipping/warehousing.
  • Ability to talk and hear.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently walk and move about the facility.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Ability to use hands to handle or touch.
  • Ability to use fingers to pinch or grasp.
  • Ability to reach above shoulders.
  • Ability to climb, bend, reach, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • Close and distance vision.
  • Color vision.

  • Ability to adjust focus.
  • Closed toe footwear is required.

Responsibilities

  • Ship all parcel and freight packages (domestic and international) from UPS, FedEx, DHL, United States Post Office, and other carriers and freight shippers.
  • Pack product that comes from production.
  • Ensure orders packed all are same sales order number.
  • Consolidate products as much as possible to ensure savings on shipping costs.
  • Ensure accuracy in packing all items by color, piece count, and size, Strap, tape, label and ship cartons to correct customer.
  • Make up shipping boxes.
  • Pack boxes how you tell the system you are and match correct labels to correct cartons.
  • Ensure the “ship to” address on the packing slip matches the address on the shipping screen.
  • Ensure all shipping routines on packing slips and halts are allowed.
  • Ensure the correct shipping label goes on the correct carton.
  • Ship and load cartons on UPS/FEDEX/USPS trucks.
  • Load and unload packages.
  • Palletize, wrap, and strap products on skids.
  • Keep shipping and packing areas clean and organized.
  • Tracking orders in the OLO computer software.
  • Routing orders to the correct departments.
  • Using an RF device to scan orders into locations in the consolidation department.
  • Keep the consolidation area clean and organized.
  • Run reports of ready work .
  • Pull reports of ready work for the Shipping floor.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
