About The Position

The Shipping Assistant is responsible for receiving, shipping, organizing, and maintaining materials used in the production of company products. This role supports daily warehouse operations by ensuring accurate inventory handling, timely order fulfillment, and proper documentation while maintaining a safe and organized distribution center.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of distribution or warehouse experience
  • Experience with E1 (EnterpriseOne) preferred
  • Experience printing labels and tracking shipments using shipping management software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and personalities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask and work in high-pressure environments
  • Ability to read and understand pick slips and work orders
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience using standard office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, printers, scanners)
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment

  • Experience with E1 (EnterpriseOne) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Load and unload delivery trucks
  • Move materials and equipment between the distribution center (DC) and facility
  • Store materials in a neat, organized, and designated inventory location
  • Locate, arrange, and maintain inventory in correct storage areas
  • Accurately pull orders according to pick slips and work orders
  • Package orders for shipment per pick instructions
  • Process shipments using small parcel carriers (FedEx, UPS) and large carrier services
  • Receive, document, and enter work orders and daily inventory items for production
  • Perform quality audit checks on received materials and work orders
  • Receive and process packing slips and purchase orders as needed
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts and weekly inventory counts of raw materials and finished goods
  • Monitor and maintain shipping supply levels
  • Respond to email correspondence related to shipping and inventory operations
