About The Position

LaForce is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Technician to join our Detroit, MI team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for receiving and checking in a variety of items, including hardware, doors, frames, and specialty products. You will also label and palletize door hardware for the correct job—ensuring our projects run smoothly and efficiently. If you thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment and take pride in a job well done, this could be the opportunity for you. Work hours are first shift Monday – Friday with no nights or weekends!

Requirements

• Dependable

• Willing to jump right in
• High school diploma or GED
• Experience shipping or receiving products
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds, standing and moving frequently throughout your shift
• Experience operating a forklift (or willing to be trained)
• Willingness to learn and adapt, including becoming proficient with LaForce software and computer systems to help streamline operations
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable record

Responsibilities

• Receive and check in a variety of items, including hardware, doors, frames, and specialty products.
• Label and separate hardware according to job-specific receiving sheets.
• Palletize, shrink wrap, and stage materials for upcoming jobs.
• Operate a forklift and handle shipping logistics, including UPS hardware processing.
• Re-key locks, cut and stamp keys.
• Manage returns, process pick lists and bill of ladings using our computer system.
• Coordinate the daily truck schedule and assist with occasional deliveries.
