About The Position

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist at Roger Dunn Golf Shops is responsible for promoting and maintaining a store culture that is consistent with Worldwide Golf’s values, including the “Sure No Problem” philosophy.

Requirements

Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
Ability to read and write.
Record maintenance skills.
Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
Ability to receive, track and distribute materials, supplies and equipment.
Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance.
Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
Ability to read, sort, check, count and verify numbers.
Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods.
Knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures.

Nice To Haves

1+ years of shipping, receiving, retail fulfillment, or related experience is preferred (entry-level candidates are welcome to apply)
General golf background/knowledge of golf products is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

Prepare shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determine most economical and efficient shipping method; select appropriate shipping container; pack items to ensure safe delivery.
Check items to be shipped against work orders to guarantee that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
Sort, count, package, label, insure, unpack, and/or log inventory which is shipped or received.
Inspect shipments for damages or defects; record discrepancies or damages and notify supervisors and/or purchasing personnel.
Deliver items to requisitioning departments and obtain authorized signatures for accepted items.
Trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiate proof of delivery documents.
May maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink wrap machine; may operate company vehicle to deliver shipments; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area; may lock warehouse and set alarms.
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
