About The Position

The Shipping and Receiving Material Handler is responsible for safely and efficiently loading, unloading, moving, and staging materials using a forklift. This role also supports shipping and receiving operations through accurate computer use, documentation, and material preparation in a GMP-regulated environment.

Requirements

• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong attention to detail for accurate labeling and paperwork
• Ability to complete documentation accurately and on time
• Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and remain focused independently
• Ability to perform basic math using a calculator and different units of measurement
• Adequate peripheral vision and depth perception to safely operate a forklift
• Professional communication skills when interacting with vendors and drivers

Responsibilities

• Preparation of materials for shipment such as labeling and shrink wrapping (30%-50% of day)
• Operate a forklift to load and unload materials from trucks
• Move, stage, and transport bulk materials within the facility and between adjacent buildings
• Prepare materials for shipment, including labeling and shrink wrapping
• Receive materials using a computer system and prepare shipping documentation
• Perform limited data entry of production-related information into the enterprise resource system
• Interact professionally with vendors, truck drivers, and internal staff
• Follow all safety, quality, and GMP requirements, including proper use of PPE
