JOB TITLE: Shipper/Packer GOVERNMENT AGENCY & LOCATION: 3675 E. Britannia Dr. Tucson, Arizona 85706 POSITION TIMING: Immediate hire upon Contract Award and completion of all background and security investigations. Candidates must be willing to sign a Letter of Intent for submission with their resume. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills with coworkers and staff.
  • Have basic typing skills, PC computer skills, working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Must read, understand, speak, and write English fluently under the authority of U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds when required; push or pull up to 150 pounds on a rolling cart or using a pallet jack.
  • Able to sit/stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours) and being able to lift totes weighing up to 30 pounds repetitively.
  • Must be able to understand the precautions required when handling hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
  • Knowledge of various items of stock in order to verify content.
  • Selection of appropriate type and size of container.
  • Inserting enclosures in container.
  • Using excelsior or other material to prevent breakage or damage .
  • Closing and sealing container.
  • Applying labels or entering identifying data on container .
  • Operates various types of packaging equipment.
  • Must be able to read computer screens and use scanning equipment.
  • Must be able to respond to alarms and alerts.
  • Maintain work area in clean and orderly manner.
  • Maintains inventories of drugs and supplies, stocking shelves, rotating stock, and checking expiration dates
  • Act as a “runner” and deliver messages, documents, or items to various locations at the facility when needed.
  • Required to have a Special Agreement Check (SAC).
  • Have a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
