About The Position

The Shipper Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all shipping and receiving operations within the facility. This role involves managing a team of shipping and receiving specialists, optimizing logistics processes, and ensuring efficient order fulfillment. The Shipper Lead plays a crucial role in maintaining inventory accuracy, enhancing operational efficiency, and upholding quality and safety standards throughout the shipping and receiving process.

Requirements

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
6+ years of relevant experience with at least 4 years in shipping and receiving
Proven experience in warehouse management and logistics operations
Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong knowledge of shipping regulations and safety standards
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements
Ability to work overtime, weekends and holiday hours as required based on production demand

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in English and Spanish
Certifications in logistics or warehouse management
Experience with lean management principles in warehouse operations
Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced warehouse management software

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of the shipping and receiving team
Develop and implement strategies to improve shipping and receiving processes
Oversee the staging, loading, and unloading of customer orders
Manage inventory levels and coordinate with production to ensure product availability
Ensure accurate documentation of all inbound and outbound shipments
Monitor and maintain compliance with FDA, USDA, and company-specific regulations
Conduct regular audits of shipping and receiving processes to ensure quality and efficiency
Liaise with transportation providers to optimize delivery schedules and resolve issues
Train and mentor team members on best practices, safety protocols, and equipment operation
Analyze shipping data to identify trends and recommend improvements
Coordinate with other departments to align shipping activities with overall business objectives
Manage and maintain shipping equipment and facilities
Respond to and resolve customer inquiries or complaints related to shipments
Other duties as assigned
