About The Position

The Shipping Clerk II (Shipper II) works under close supervision of the Shipping Supervisor to prepare packages for shipment by packaging boxes and staging pallets according to the daily shipping schedule and delivery specifications and assisting with loading and unloading trucks as needed. This position would help support our Distribution Center in Mansfield, TX during our 1st shift operations, working Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM CST until 3:30 PM CST. Other duties include: Sort and stage pallets in the shipping dock by operating a Pallet Jack or by hand based on daily shipping schedule, truck weight limits and requirements. Prepare packages for shipping by taping or stapling boxes shut and affixing completed address label. Generate air pillows at the shipping line by entering quantity and size needed in the Air Pillow Machine and placing them in boxes. Investigate packages that are flagged as not meeting the specified weight requirements on the shipping conveyor line and make necessary adjustments or escalate issues to the Shipping Supervisor. Wrap ready-to-ship pallets by operating the shrink wrap machine to ensure the product on the pallet does not shift during transport before it is loaded on the truck for shipment. Scan products for delivery by operating RF Scanner to scan bar code of packages and enter delivery information. Assemble specialized boxes for custom orders using a Staple Gun. Note any order discrepancies and damages to inform Shipping Supervisor. May load product on trucks by operating a Forklift or Pallet Jack. Perform daily safety inspections of material handling equipment. Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management. Follow Six Sigma lean manufacturing standards to keep work area clean and safe from hazards. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • One (1) or more years of relevant work experience required.
  • High School Diploma/GED and experience working in a distribution or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.
  • Must possess knowledge in updating data and navigating through warehouse management systems.
  • Must be able to operate a Class II Order Picker and Class II Stand-Up Forklift, Pallet Jack, Label Printing System, RF Scanner, and Staple Gun.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and with others.
  • Ability to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with IMI Series (AS400) and Boss is preferred.
  • High School Diploma/GED and experience working in a distribution or manufacturing environment preferred.
