Performs various material movement duties including: basic operation of computer systems, categorizing freight and other similar duties to ship company’s products and materials.​​ Works from computer systems procedures, purchase orders, written and/or verbal instructions, established shipping procedures, methods, and practices. Counts, weighs, and checks outgoing shipments; reports shortages, damage or obvious defects to supervisor. Packages, straps, weighs, and labels shipments. Load trucks or containers (floor load or forklift) based on preferred method to be determined by management. Operates internal computer system to determine status of products and track products. Maintains records as instructed. Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision. Maintains work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition. Maintains daily production and other records as required. Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma​ or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of ​1-2 years​ experience in shipping.
  • Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Must be certified to drive forklifts or pass certification exam during initial trial period.
