About The Position

We are hiring an experienced 1st Class Shipfitter for full-time day shift work in Houma, LA. This role involves layout, fitting, and assembling structural components in a shipyard or marine environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to work from drawings with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• 3+ years shipfitting experience
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and structural drawings
• Experience with layout, fitting, and tacking steel structures
• Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and specifications
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance
• Commitment to safety and PPE

Nice To Haves

• Shipyard or marine fabrication experience
• Ability to tack weld
• Experience with burning, beveling, and plate prep
• Rigging knowledge
• TWIC card or ability to obtain
• Leadership or crew lead experience
