We are currently seeking skilled Shipfitter s for a potential 5-year project in Norfolk, VA. This opportunity involves hands-on labor working at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for experienced professionals. Note : This position is contingent upon contract award. Employment will begin only if and when the company secures the government contract associated with this role.
Requirements
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- 4+ years of shipfitting experience, with at least 2+ years on Navy S hips
- Completion of a formal trade training program (trade school, military training, apprenticeship, or equivalent)
- Strong metal fabrication skills
- Ability to work 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd shift
Responsibilities
- Cut, shape, and weld structural steel for ship frames.
- Install bulkheads, decks, and foundations.
- Read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Use precision measuring and cutting tools.
