Part Time Shift Supervisor (on call) What this job involves: Supervises and coordinates activities of facilities staff during assigned shifts, including work assignments, prioritization, and resource allocation. Responds to and manages facility emergencies including mechanical failures, environmental issues, and urgent service requests in coordination with on-call management. Conducts regular rounds of assigned buildings and systems to identify and address operational issues proactively. Ensures compliance with all safety protocols, Joint Commission standards, and hospital policies during shift operations. Coordinates with clinical departments, security, and other hospital services to address facility-related needs. Documents shift activities, incidents, work orders, and equipment status in facilities management systems. Provides coaching and direction to staff on proper procedures, safety practices, and job performance. Escalates issues requiring management attention and maintains communication with on-call leadership. •Participates in emergency response procedures and serves as facilities liaison during codes or incidents. Schedule: On Call, all days and shifts WHAT YOU’LL DO: With supervision by the Chief Engineer and Director and Deputy Director of Operations, oversee the maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems Supervise and manage engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, coaching and personal development Coordinate with 1st shift and 3rd shift engineering and management teams to ensure smooth handoff of in progress work and communication of issues affecting the campus Inspect various damaged surfaces (plaster, drywall, water-damaged areas, ceiling and wall cracks) for repairs Perform assigned facility rounds and due diligence efforts by being proactive; report on conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations; enter work orders for resolution Utilize CMMS work order system to manage the timely completion of all preventative and corrective maintenance assignments Coordinate with 1st shift and 3rd shift engineering and management teams to ensure smooth handoff of in progress work and communication of issues affecting the campus Understand and adhere to all regulatory, healthcare and hospital requirements that support safe operation and patient care Regularly work in teams and foster collaboration between trades and shifts to deliver a quality final product to the Client Coordinate with 1st shift and 3rd shift engineering and management teams to ensure smooth handoff of in progress work and communication of issues affecting the campus

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years facilities operations experience in healthcare or similarly complex environments.
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory requirements and Joint Commission standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to lead diverse teams.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to walk extensively throughout multi-building campus.
  • Capable of climbing stairs and ladders to access mechanical spaces.
  • Able to respond quickly to emergency situations.
  • May require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Effective use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel), Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS – Corrigo a plus), and other internet-based software
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
