Key Responsibilities Safety & Compliance Maintain full compliance with all Company and plant safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Complete all required annual training and ensure team members are properly trained and compliant. Enforce the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety footwear. Actively hold team members accountable to all safety policies and procedures on the production floor. Leadership & Team Management Lead by example while working as both a leader and an active team member within the manufacturing department and the company as a whole. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all personnel through effective communication and collaboration. Mentor, coach, and support employees on the assigned shift to promote skill development, accountability, and engagement. Address employee performance and disciplinary issues in coordination with the Production Supervisor/Manager and Human Resources. Maintain staffing levels by orienting, training, and developing new and existing employees. Track attendance and report concerns or trends to the Production Supervisor/Manager and Human Resources. Production & Operations Work closely with the Production Supervisor/Manager to ensure production orders are completed on time and according to schedule. Ensure required shop floor resources—including work instructions, drawings, tooling, and equipment—are available to meet production demands. Provide consistent, accurate updates to the Production Supervisor/Manager and Production Planner regarding productivity, scheduling, quality concerns, and issues requiring support. Take assignments and manage workload efficiently, striving to meet deadlines and production targets. Be held accountable for critical deadlines, quality issues, scrap rates, efficiencies, and other key performance indicators, communicated verbally or in writing as required. Quality Systems & Documentation Understand and comply with Quality System requirements, including ISO 9001 standards. Contribute to and improve ISO documentation to support continuous improvement in quality, environmental, health, and safety systems. Remain active on the shop floor by conducting audits of extrusion paperwork and reviewing procedures with production personnel. Review employee training records monthly and provide guidance or recommendations as needed. Demonstrate a strong understanding of extrusion paperwork and all aspects of paper flow throughout the organization. Understand and teach die book interpretation and verify parts against product drawings. Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.
