About The Position

The Shift Manager at Pet Supermarket is responsible for enhancing the lives of pets and their owners by providing friendly customer service and expert product knowledge. This role involves assisting customers with their pet needs, from finding toys to selecting special diet foods, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. The ideal candidate is an animal lover who is passionate about making a difference in the community. Key responsibilities include assisting the management team with daily store operations, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, driving daily sales goals, and acting as the Manager on Duty in the absence of the Store and Assistant Manager. Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of retail Keyholder and customer service experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Access to a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Providing friendly customer service when customers are shopping.
  • Providing product knowledge regarding pet needs, food, and accessories.
  • Assisting customers with new pets to ensure they have the right food and accessories for a positive transition.
  • Assisting the management team with the day-to-day store operations.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized sales floor.
  • Helping customers feel at ease while shopping.
  • Driving daily sales goals.
  • Completing tasks as the Manager on Duty in absence of Store and Assistant Manager.
  • Lead and motivate sales associate team to meet or exceed targeted sales goals.
  • Assign daily goals, tasks and assignments to associate team and ensure proper completion when Manager on Duty.
  • Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures to include operational and merchandising direction that is communicated from the Corporate Office.
  • Ensure proper care of all pets in store as outlined in the Animal Care Manual.
  • Lead by example by modeling outstanding customer service skills.
  • Bring positive recognition through professionalism, enthusiastic attitude and effective communication.
  • Respond to interpersonal team conflicts with partnership of store management team.
  • Respond to customers complaints quickly, effectively and courteously, and request additional management assistance as necessary to resolve.
  • Work a flexible schedule that may include weekend and evenings.
