Shoppers get great prices on the goods they want, and in the process, give a hand up to people in their community. We provide education and career services as well as on the job training to persons with barriers to employment such as multi-generational poverty, history of incarceration, limited education, and no work experience. Requirements

  • Punctual and dependable attendance.
  • High School degree or GED, preferred.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills in English as well as interpersonal skills, bilingual a plus.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to adapt to growth and a changing environment within the Agency.
  • Ability to complete and maintain: CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Reliable transportation and communication required.
  • Must be available to work during operating business hours as needed for business operations.
  • Work schedule includes days, evenings, holidays and blackout periods, weekends are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior retail experience or customer service/ relations experience preferred.
  • 6 months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all store personnel as applicable during assigned shift to ensure operational standards are met.
  • Develop, train, coach, and support store associates for career growth within the organization.
  • Comply with agency policies and Donated Goods Retail standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the agency’s safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Greet, assist, and provide excellent customer service to donors and customers.
  • Assist and resolve any complaints and communicate complaints and issues to the management team.
  • Monitor and maintain overall store appearance and housekeeping to agency standards.
  • Perform and assist in all functions completed by store personnel.
  • Support in maintaining all company records and reports accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Attend all meetings and training as required by the agency.
  • Review and be familiar with Goodwill Industries of the Greater Chattanooga Area safety policies, programs and procedures and adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and safety codes.
  • Attend safety training and meetings and report any unsafe work conditions, accidents, or injuries immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
