Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness? We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Shelter Support Staff member to join our team. In this vital role, you will help us provide a safe, clean, and non-threatening environment for our adult emergency shelter residents. Available Shift: 1st Shift Friday to Monday Pay - $18.00 per hour 2nd shift Sunday-Thursday 2nd shift Tuesday-Saturday Pay- $18+$1 shift differential per hour 3rd shift Tuesday-Friday Pay-$18.50+ $1.50 Shift Differential per Hour What You'll Do: Ensure a safe and welcoming environment: You will supervise resident activities, address behavioral issues, and respond to the needs of our residents. You'll also perform housekeeping and maintenance tasks to keep the shelter clean and secure. Support daily operations: This includes everything from explaining program rules to new residents and assigning beds, to monitoring supplies and documenting daily logs and incident reports. Your attention to detail will ensure our operations run smoothly and effectively. Contribute to continuous improvement: You'll have the opportunity to provide input on shelter policies and programs, helping us identify and implement changes that will improve the quality of our services for the most vulnerable members of our community. Maintain security: You'll provide "awake" shift coverage and maintain grounds security at all times, ensuring a safe environment for both residents and staff.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • An understanding of housing safety concerns.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in excellent customer service.
  • Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • A compassionate and professional demeanor with the ability to handle a variety of situations.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • A background check will be required after a job offer is made.
