Job Summary: The Shelter Operations Support Specialist supports the daily operations of the Faith House Emergency Shelter by maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role assists with facility readiness, supply coordination, basic needs support, and general operational tasks that help ensure program services run efficiently. The position collaborates closely with program staff to promote safety, dignity, and stability for individuals and families served by A New Leaf.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must Be At Least 21 Years of Age
  • Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Central Registry Background Check
  • Drug Screening
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Valid Unrestricted Driver’s License
  • Current Auto Liability Insurance
  • 39 Month Motor Vehicle Record
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, including the Code of Conduct, professional standards, and relevant regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in facilities support, shelter operations, environmental services, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working in a human services or residential setting is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of residential units, common areas, offices, and program spaces.
  • Prepare shelter units for occupancy and assist with move-in and move-out processes.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies, donations, furniture, and basic needs resources.
  • Assist with organizing and distributing donated items as directed.
  • Support facility safety checks and report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Complete assigned logs, paperwork, and documentation accurately and timely.
  • Assist with scheduling and pickup of donations or supplies when assigned.
  • Operate agency vehicles in accordance with organizational policies when transportation duties are required.
  • Provide general operational support to program staff to maintain a trauma-informed and respectful environment.
  • Participate in required trainings and adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations.
