The primary responsibilities of the Shelter Advocate are to provide advocacy and facilitation support services to domestic violence survivors who are admitted to the Shelter. The Shelter Advocate will provide individual advocacy, crisis intervention, and individual counseling for clients admitted to the shelter including intervention and crisis counseling for clients experiencing episodes of trauma response, mental health crisis, substance use crisis, or medical emergencies. This position also manages the intake and discharge procedures for each client as assigned. This position is under the direct supervision of the Shelter Manager.
