About The Position

The Sheetmetal Supervisor objective is to ensure that employees are correctly fabricating, installing and adhering to safety standards, IAW all drawing, core, and guidelines.

Requirements

• Must be able to speak and understand Basic English
• Must have a minimum 8+ years’ experience and/or qualified experience.
• Must possess some welding knowledge
• Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting skills involving HVAC and habitability
• Able to accomplish Volumetric vent testing and balancing
• Advanced in reading blueprints, work specifications, drawing, sketches, & manuals
• Advanced knowledge of mil-specs and standard items
• Advanced in IDR/CFR writing and teaching
• Must be able to perform ship checks and draw advanced sketches.
• Must be able to accomplish advanced layout
• Ability to accurately quote new work when required
• Advanced computer skills
• Communication Proficiency
• Flexibility (Job duties & schedule)
• Work well with others in all areas where SCW&M is performing work
• Follow verbal/written instructions
• Able to work independently with no supervision
• Teamwork orientation
• Able to climb ladders and work off scaffolding
• Able to lift, carry, and or push up to 50 – 75 lbs. throughout the shift (including overtime)

Responsibilities

• Ensures Lower-Level supervision is accomplishing all required Callouts and check point requirements
• Accomplish visual inspection
• Attends production, schedule and various other meetings
• Ensure that employees possess proper skills & training
• Ensures Lower-level supervision is completing all required documentation
• Creates Matrix’s for work flow
• Creates Material Requisitions
• Ensures that TIPS are followed
• Ensures that employees are fabricating & installing per Specifications, Standard Items, and Manuals
• Ensures employees are carefully filling out time charges
• Ensures the allocated man hours are within budgeted time and job is completed satisfactorily
• Requests resources and coordinates the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.
• Conduct performance reviews of department employees.
• Assists workers in performance of tasks, such as welding, bolting, chipping, and use of portable tools.
• Responsible and accountable for the performance of department workers, leadmen, and entry-level helpers for quality, cost, scheduling, and safety.
• Must adhere to a promote ALL company safety policies. Wear all required PPE when in Production areas and promote a clean and safe work environment.
